Preparations were carried out thoroughly and carefully, from ensuring security and logistics to promoting the traditional cultural identity of the Khmer people, especially the beauty of the Ngo boat racing festival.
Right after the opening ceremony, the teams entered intense competition in the men’s 1,200-meter event and the women’s 1,000-meter event, amid the enthusiastic cheers of thousands of spectators crowding both sides of the Maspero riverbank.
